چکیده

Chemo-dynamical models have been introduced in the late eighties and are a generally accepted tool for understanding galaxy evolution. They have been successfully applied to one-dimensional problems, e.g. the evolution of nonrotating galaxies, and two-dimensional problems, e.g. the evolution of disk galaxies. Recently, also three-dimensional chemo-dynamical models have become available. In these models the dynamics of different components, i.e. dark matter, stars and a multi-phase interstellar medium, are treated in a self-consistent way and several processes allow for an exchange of matter, energy and momentum between the components or different gas phases. Some results of chemo-dynamical models and their comparison with observations of chemical abundances or star formation histories

Exchange Processes in a Multi-Phase ISM

Abstract. We present a new particle based code with a multi-phase description of the ISM implemented in order to follow the chemo-dynamical evolution of galaxies. The multi-phase ISM consists of clouds (sticky particles) and diffuse gas (SPH): Exchange of matter, energy and momentum is achieved by drag (due to ram pressure) and condensation or evaporation. Based on time scales we show that in M...

Chemo-dynamical evolution of Globular Cluster Systems

We studied the relation between the ratio of rotational velocity to velocity dispersion and the metallicity (< vrot > /σv-metallicity relation) of globular cluster systems (GCS) of disk galaxies by comparing the relation predicted from simple chemo-dynamical models for the formation and evolution of disk galaxies with the observed kinematical and chemical properties of their GCSs. We conclude t...

Scaling relations in dynamical evolution of star clusters

We have carried out a series of small scale collisional N-body calculations of single-mass star clusters to investigate the dependence of the lifetime of star clusters on their initial parameters. Our models move through an external galaxy potential with a logarithmic density profile and they are limited by a cut-off radius. In order to find scaling relations between the lifetime of star cluste...

MODELING THE STAR FORMATION IN GALAXIES USING THE CHEMO - DYNAMICAL SPH CODE Chemo - dynamical SPH code

A new Chemo Dynamical Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamic (CD SPH) code is presented. The disk galaxy is described as a multi fragmented gas and star system, embedded in a cold dark matter halo. The star formation (SF) process, SNII, SNIa and PN events as well as chemical enrichment of gas have been considered within the framework of the standard SPH model. Using this model we describe the dynamical...

A Numerical Study of the Chemo-Dynamical Evolution of Elliptical Galaxies

We investigate the chemo-dynamical evolution of elliptical galaxies, to understand the origin of the mass-dependence of photometric properties such as the colour-magnitude relation (CMR). Our threedimensional TREE N-body/SPH numerical simulation takes into account both Type II and Type Ia supernovae and follows the evolution of the abundances of several chemical elements. We derive the photomet...
